After its debut, the exhibit was immediately
reserved for two occasions. During most
of May it was at San Jose State Universitys
Multicultural Center as part of the celebration of
Asian-Pacific Heritage Month. On June 5, it was
displayed at the Chinese American Cultural Center,
Sunnyvale, for the graduation ceremony of West
Valley Chinese School. It
was a big hit with both young Asian Americans at
SJSU and the older generation attendees at the
Chinese school graduation, many of whom had lived
through the history depicted in the exhibit.
The exhibit, 14 large color panels covering local Chinese
American history and life, was produced by Daniel
Quan Design of San Francisco, creator of the
displays in Ng Shing Gung museum. The panels mount on two
sides of a folding display unit that stands 7 feet
tall and about 15 feet across.
