Established in 2021 by Contemporary Asian Theater Scene (CATS), the Dr. Jerry Hiura Inspiration Award is presented to Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) students who best reflect Dr. Jerry’s passion for the arts.

Applicants must submit an application and finished project that addresses the artistic challenge, "How We Can Make the World a Better Place." Projects may be of any artistic discipline: performance, written, visual, film, etc.

AAPI applicants must be a current high school or college student in or from the Bay Area to participate.
